Communication and Leadership Ethics

In ORGL 610: Communication and Leadership Ethics, I developed two key competencies that have enhanced my ethical leadership approach. First, I strengthened my moral sensitivity and ethical decision-making skills, learning to recognize ethical dilemmas, anticipate their impact on stakeholders, and engage in moral imagination to explore alternative solutions. This aligns with the course’s focus on articulating values and making independent ethical decisions. Second, I gained proficiency in applying ethical frameworks to leadership challenges, using models such as Utilitarianism, Confucianism, and the Potter Box Method to analyze complex situations and guide principled decision-making. These competencies have equipped me to navigate ethical ambiguity, balance competing interests, and integrate ethical reasoning into my leadership role, ensuring decisions align with both business goals and ethical responsibilities.

My Moral Sensitivity Paper serves as an artifact that illustrates my understanding of moral sensitivity and ethical reasoning, both central to ORGL 610. This paper demonstrates my ability to identify ethical dilemmas, analyze them through ethical frameworks, and apply ethical principles to real-world leadership challenges. It highlights my growth in recognizing the moral dimensions of decision-making, particularly in organizational restructuring, where I had to balance business needs with ethical responsibilities. The course deepened my ability to engage in ethical dialogue, consider multiple perspectives, and make principled decisions – all of which I now integrate into my leadership approach to foster ethical accountability and moral courage in business settings.
